Joint Epiphany Service

Joint Epiphany Service

On Sunday 5th January, 2020, the Parishes of Bedwas, Machen, Michaelston-y-Fedw and Rudry will come together to worship to celebrate Epiphany.

The word “Epiphany” means “manifestation”. In this season, we particular remember the Magi (or Wise Men) travelling to worship Jesus. These Magi were Gentiles (i.e non-Jewish) and so Epiphany is a reminder to us that Jesus came for all of us – Jews and Gentiles alike.

Epiphany is a season in the Church, and so over weeks following Sunday 5th January, we will also recall some defining moments of Jesus’ life in our regular worship in our home churches. These events highlight to us not just Jesus’ humanity, but also his divinity and destiny.

Epiphany truly is about revealing to us that Jesus is none other than God himself; the God who acts on our behalf to bring restoration and reconciliation.

Why not join us for this special joint Epiphany Service? It will be held in St. Michael’s Church, Michaelston-y-Fedw at 10:30am on Sunday 5th January 2020, and you’d be most welcome!
